Is Your Web Copy Customer – or Company – Focused?
Let’s face it. People are bombarded with tons of digital information every day.
That’s why when it comes to web copy, you have to know how to get attention – and fast.
But it’s more than that.
There are 2 vital things you need to do.
1. Create clear, concise copy that moves people to take the next natural step.
For example, in less than a minute, you want your prospect to be able to:
- quickly understand what you offer
- understand how what you offer will solve a problem/make their life easier
- easily jump into that offer (e.g. sign up to download a free report, or buy a product or service)
2. Be conversational in everything you write
Don’t “talk at” your prospects and customers, but “talk to” them like you’re having a normal everyday conversation.
Unfortunately folks, people don’t want to read the worn-out “we” approach that most companies take with their copy. Because it’s all about you and not them.
The good news is you can still get your value across. Just take a different tack.
Conversational copy is where it’s at.
Translation?
Get the conversation started, and you’ll have a better chance of gaining the sale (which comes AFTER you gain your prospect’s trust by talking to them in everyday terms).
And of course, thirdly, you want your copy to be SEO-optimized to ensure both on-page and off-page copy is ranking well in search engines in order for your target audience to find you.
